Axle is an 11-storey premium grade commercial office building with ground level retail and a childcare centre, totalling 69,000m2 GBA. The building comprises of various structural steel elements - all of which are architectural and exposed to view. This required an AESS4 finish, which is the highest quality nominated by Australian Standards.
The package consisted of all internal atrium glazed steel lifts, atrium stairs including cantilevered switch backs and curved structural steel stairs, the feature curved skylight modules and the east link bridges for a total fabricated weight of 750 tonnes.
